Stuart Beattie's Halo: Fall of Reach script could see the spectre of a project rear its head once again, with Steven Spielberg himself said to be interested in delivering a Halo movie - at last - to the big screen.

You might recall that a Peter Jackson-backed Halo film project collapsed last year after wrangling between the studios originally signed-up to deliver the movie spin-off.

News of this new Halo flick comes via IESB who seem convinced that this news is more than mere Hollywood gossip.

"One of the biggest producers in Hollywood history is currently in active negotiations to develop the feature film adaptation and no it's not Jerry Bruckheimer or Peter Jackson. It's the man behind Jaws, E.T., Indiana Jones and Transformers, Mr. Steven Spielberg," reads the new report.

Spielberg reportedly believes Halo: Fall of Reach could be the project to give their newly independent studio a boost, alongside distribution from Disney, after was recently lost to Paramount.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for more on this.
