Wii Sports Resort sells big for Nintendo
MotionPlus title off to a flyer
Wii Sports Resort only launched on July 24th, officially introducing the Wiimote-enhancing MotionPlus peripheral, and now we hear from Nintendo that the game has sold over a million copies in Western markets.
According to reports, Wii Sports Resort has sold 600,000 copies in Europe - 100,000 more than the half-million figure topped in the United States.
The game has been the UK's best-seller for two weeks running, and it is the fourth biggest selling Wii title released to date, based on these early numbers.
MotionPlus is widely regarded as taking the Wiimote to the level of sensitivity needed for future game evolution, and given that Wii Sports Resort is bundled with the device, we're expecting further huge sales.
