A backlash against realistic wargame Six Days in Fallujah saw publisher cave in and drop support for the title, landing developer Atomic in more than a little bother.

With no new publisher having so far been found for the ambitious title, Atomic today concede that they are reluctantly having to let developers go, with no new funding for the game having been found.

"Due to a mixture of fears about the edgy subject matter of Six Days in Fallujah, as well as low videogame this summer, we have been unable to secure full-scale funding from a major publisher for Six Days in Fallujah. This has caused us to reduce the size of our studio today," reads word from the firm.

Atomic are vowing to continue work on the game with a smaller team, while reports also emerge that creative director Juan Benito, founder of developer Red Storm, is also leaving the developer.
