Activision games proving more popular
Publisher gobbles US market share
Announcing their second-quarter financial results, giant publisher Activision Blizzard were proud to reveal that revenue of 1.04 billion USD was comfortably over the previous 1 billion estimate.
The publisher are also no doubt pleased to reveal that their market share is up, hitting 12.7 percent in North America from 9.9 percent a year ago.
Activision reckon they were America's top third-party game publisher for the first six months of the year, with titles like Prototype, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Guitar Hero and Call of Duty doing the business.
Apparently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has now sold over 14 million copies, while sequel Modern Warfare 2 is the most pre-ordered title in the company's history. Can I borrow a fiver, Activision?
