Sony to kill 80Gb PS3 in Japan?
Hardware changes loom for Sony...
Rumour on the interweb this morning (thanks VG247) purports to reveal that Sony could be killing off the 80Gb PS3 SKU in Japan. That's the word from Hatimaki today.
According to Japanese retailers, pre-orders of black, white and silver 80Gb systems will halt on August 8th - suggesting that Sony could be planning something new.
The 20Gb, 40Gb and 60Gb models have already been axed in the land of the rising sun, while rumours of a PS3 Slim continue to gather pace ahead of this month's GamesCom event in Cologne - at which Sony are planning a huge conference.
We'll bring you more on this very soon.
