Steam and services of its ilk may be the future for some, but veteran is less convinced, according to word from the Mercury Evening News.

"We really don't see the future of video games being merely confined to digital distribution or moving solely or even to a majority of our products being distributed that way," the veteran admitted in a new interview.

Miyamoto believes that innovative, locally-based still has a role to play in the evolution of video gaming.

Miyamoto continues: "Entertainment is something that will not just become digital. If I look at MotionPlus, this is something that you're not doing via digital distribution."
