Gearbox not working on new Halo
Studio officially denies Microsoft role
We thought it was, but maybe it wasn't; Gearbox Software today telling Twitter that they are not working on a brand new Halo game - as had been speculated for some months.
Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford refused to comment on chatter that his studio were working on Halo 4 earlier this week, with even a Microsoft PR spokesperson commenting that they "couldn't talk about that now".
This vagary, and the lack of a denial, had been taken as suggesting that Gearbox were indeed involved in some capacity, something that has today been denied.
"For the record, Gearbox is NOT working on a Halo title for Microsoft," read a Tweet from the firm. So there we have it, an actual denial. You can all relax now.
