Sony haven't officially confirmed when 5 is likely to be released, but Amazon.com clearly think they've got an idea, listing the title as a December 29th release in the United States.

The retailer is also taking pre-orders at 56.99 USD, suggesting they must be fairly confident that the game will make it out in 2009 - as previously promised.

Polyphony have been polishing the exclusive for some months now, but given the importance of this release it has been speculated that the might still slip into 2010 - given the lack of concrete dating from Sony.

"We haven't announced a release date for GT5 yet and can't comment on the US," told CVG, although the version of Gran Turismo is due on October 1st.
