Wii sales top 52 million
DSi also closing on 7 million
The latest Nintendo financial results may not have impressed when they were aired yesterday, but they did deliver some fairly hefty grand totals, of the lifetime sales variety.
So far, the Wii console has shifted an impressive 52.6 million units, with the DSi also doing well, amassing 6.7 million sales just a few months after launch.
Of course, with quarter-one sales well and truly down, Nintendo are going to have enliven things somewhat if these huge sales are likely to continue - the Wii in particular having gone off the boil in recent months.
First-quarter results also saw software sales down, the Wii shedding about 25 percent, the DS more like 15. Still, with bigger name releases still to come later this year, we can't help but think things are likely to improve as the winter nears.
