Sonic the Hedgehog has retained enduring appeal in recent years in spite of, rather than because of, the quality of the games released under the great blue one's banner.

Sega, however, are confident that things are now going in the right direction for - and that the quality will subside soon.

"The quality is something that will be fixed over time," Sean Ratcliffe revealed to IndustryGamers.

"It's not something where you wake up one morning and say, 'You know what, we're going to improve our quality on this franchise,' and it magically happens. A lot of hard work goes into striving for quality."

Fingers crossed, Sean.
