Battlefield 1943 upsets Irish players
Flag problem riles Ireland
More than a handful of Irish games players have been left rather miffed by EA's stance with regard to Battlefield 1943. Apparently, the game's profile pages only fly the UK flag - rather than Ireland's tricolour.
Seenit report that this means that if you live in Ireland or Northern Ireland, EA still won't allow you to identify yourself as 'Irish', despite the politically sensitive nature of the issue.
EA have apologised over the gaff, but state that the situation cannot be rectified as Ireland is not "listed distinctively and is included in Great Britain."
Something of a faux pas there, EA...
