Gamers getting older according to report
A lifelong hobby it be
According to a new report by the Entertainment Merchants Association, those who play games tend to do so for their entire lives, and this means players are getting older (on average, obviously).
"Consumer turnover in the video game market is exceedingly low. Older gamers continue to be engaged by video games, rather than dropping out and being replaced by a new generation," reads the EMA's report (thanks IndustryGamers).
"Once a consumer decides to play video games, they continue to play for life - adding to the growing number of gamers worldwide."
The US games industry was apparently worth some 23 billion USD in 2008, while 60 percent of American homes now play games.
