Monster Hunter is just about the biggest thing since sliced sushi in the land of the rising sun, publisher confirming this week that they are taking a slightly different approach with play for 3.

Monster Hunter 3 will of course be a exclusive when it launches on the 1st of August in Japan, and we hear the series' clout will be exploited via a new paid-for mode.

Singleplayer will of course be entirely free, but in order to support what promise to be some advanced online functions, Capcom will only allow 'free' online fun for only 20 or 90 days.

After this, players will need to acquire some cheeky sounding 'Hunting Tickets'. These will cost 800 points for 30 days, 1,500 points for 60 days or 2,000 points for 90 days.

What are your thoughts on this subscription-like approach, players?
