EA's acclaimed downloadable release 1943 has made a record breaking start on both the and the - the publisher are quick to reveal this morning.

Apparently, Battlefield 1943 is the fastest selling one-day and one-week title ever released on the Live Arcade, while over on the PS3 the game was the fastest selling after one-day and one-week in North America, too.

The game launched on July 8th and we hear that DICE's opus has now shifted well in excess of 600,000 copies, which must go some way towards vindicating EA's digital delivery approach.
