Veteran EA designers jump ship to Activision
Redwood Shores staffers defect
Activision may have pulled off something of a 'six-pointer' this week, veteran EA game makers Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey having apparently left EA Redwood Shores to side with Activision's new Bay Area outfit.
Schofield was general manager at Redwood Shores, while Condrey was COO - the former credited with the vision behind Dead Space, not to mention recent work on Dante's Inferno.
"EA has been nurturing great developers for 27 years and making room for the next generation is an important part of that process," EA head of corporate communications Jeff Brown tells Kotaku.
"It takes a team to make a great game like Deas Space and and there's a stunning array of talent in the Visceral studio - creative leaders who now have the opportunity to step into the spotlight and have their talent recognized."
This must be seen as something of a blow to EA given the influential status both men enjoyed at Redwood Shores, while we hear the veterans will be heading up Activision's new studio, working on a new game based on an existing Activision franchise. More news is expected soon.
