Further proof that the worldwide is hitting the gaming sector comes today with the sad news that all the staff based at Midway's corporate headquarters in Chicago have been given two months' notice.

According to the Chicago Tribune chief executive Matt Booty is among those who has been let go and it's thought this loss of staff represents roughly twenty percent of the publishers global workforce.

Only recently Bros. purchased most of Midway's American assets in a 33 million USD deal which has since grown to 49 million USD due to "considerations such as inventory and accounts receivable," according to GameSpot.

These fresh job losses come hot on the heels of the news that broke earlier this week regarding the of Newcastle, which wasn't included in the Midway's San Diego studios which were also excluded from the deal remain up for sale.
