It's being widely reported today that a brand new game is currently being developed by LucasArts. Apparently, a diverse multiplayer-orientated war game in the style of 1942 is the order of the day; spiced-up with a Star Wars setting, naturally.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be unveiled by the developer/publisher officially in early 2004, but until then it has been confirmed that the game will be released on the PS2, and PC. Until we find out more, then, we'll just have to comfort ourselves with the thought that this sounds more than a little promising.
