Halo Wars to get new maps and achievements

Four of each in fact

According to Joysiq July 21st marks the date Microsoft will be giving Halo Wars fans the chance to take the battle some place new with the release of the Historic Battles map pack.

The new DLC will cost 800 MS points and feature four new multiplayer maps as well as four new achievements totalling an extra 100 available gamerpoints for the RTS.

On the maps front there's Barrens and Blood River, both 1v1 maps, as well as 2v2 map Memorial Basin and 3v3 entry Glacial Ravine. Onto the achievements and we have 30 points for hot dropping 50 squads to your Covenant Leader in a single game on Memorial Basin and a further 15 for finishing a game with 5000 net resources contributed to your team-mates on Barrens. Another 30 points can be gained if you manage to kill 20 enemy squads with a continuous Covenant Leader Power on Memorial Basin while the final 25 can be earned by disrupting 5 active Leader powers in a single game on Blood River.

Halo Wars was developed by Ensemble Studios and was released on the Xbox 360 back in February of this year.
