Dragon Quest IX sells 2.3 million in 48 hours
Despite Amazon review backlash
Eagerly anticipated RPG sequel Dragon Quest IX has reportedly shifted 2.3 million units during only two days on sale.
Released at the weekend for the DS, anticipation for the game had reached fever pitch with pre-orders alone reaching the 2 million mark.
The previous game, Dragon Quest VIII (obviously) achieved a similar, slightly lower number selling 2,237,000 units in the same two-day time frame back in 2004.
Bizarrely however, Amazon's Japanese site has received 223 one-star customer ratings for the game with only 67 five-star ones by contrast.
Some people are never happy, eh?
