OnLive has a bright future, says analysts
Tech could appeal to telecoms firms
OnLive - the new cloud gaming service much touted in recent months - has a bright future ahead of it, according to analysts Wedbush Morgan. Quite when the service will come to the fore however, is very much up for debate.
The service impressed at GDC, and was also shown working off-site during E3, the analysts commenting: "It is not clear to us that OnLive will dominate any time soon, but we are confident that this breakthrough technology will ultimately be widely adopted."
The technology developed by OnLive will also appeal to those interested in videoconferencing, says the report, which suggests a telecoms firm like Verizon might splash out for this alone - and also offer gaming.
"The technology is quite appealing, and we are confident that OnLive will end up as part of the video game culture some time next decade," concludes word this morning.
