Word on the street this morning (thanks Eurogamer), has it that is finally set to return this summer on the Live Arcade. Serious Sam HD will reportedly set players back 1,200 Points.

Called Serious Sam HD, the new title will be a 're-imagining' of The First Encounter; series developers once again at the helm.

The first-person shooter's revival will be backed by publisher Majesco, with 12 Egyptian-esque levels brought to life through new visuals, while epic baddie-counts are once again promised.

Sam will also once again be battling OTT foes, and vast bosses, using some hefty weaponry - this forever-inspired romp perhaps the closest we'll get to a new Duke title for some time (ever? - Ed).
