Square Enix sued over MMO fees controversy
Ex-player says she was ripped-off
A lawsuit - confirmed today - has been brought against Square Enix over MMO Final Fantasy XI; the case seeking millions of dollars in compensation for alleged "unfair business practices, false advertising and unjust enrichment."
According to 1UP, those pursuing the case believe Square Enix misled subscribers to Square Enix's online hit with regard to the game's fees.
The court filing reads that the game maker "lied about or concealed its monthly fees, penalties for late payments, interest, restrictions and other things that should have been fully disclosed at points of purchase."
More on this furore as we get it.
