Released over E3 a couple of weeks ago, Square Enix's re-release of VII via the PlayStation Network has now been downloaded over 100,000 times.

Sony reveal that the passing of this milestone also makes the seminal the fastest selling game to-date; the total reached in a mere two weeks following launch.

The announcement of the downloadable release was one of Sony's big announcements of the LA conference, and it helps underscore the progress being made by the PSN.

According to Sony, over 500 million pieces of content have now been dished out via the service, rival of Microsoft's Live.
