A new report from Global Industry Analysts has claimed that by 2015 the global games market will have hit a gigantic 91 billion USD per year.

GIA's Video Games: A Global Strategic Business Report highlights the blossoming of the from 2001 onwards.

The success of home consoles is in part responsible for the flourish, according to the research, with MMOs, mobile games and high-speed internet also playing a part.

Strong growth in Asia-Pacific and Latin America has also played a large role in gaming's expansion, and while console in and North America were highest in 2009, East Asia and were the leaders when it came to MMOs - with mobile phones leading the charge in developing nations.
