Warner Bros eying Codemasters take-over
New deal in the offing?
UK blog VG247 today post rumour that Warner Bros are looking to increase their development talent, and will make a bid for UK game makers Codemasters.
The Britsoft firm, home to DiRT, Overlord and the official Formula One game license, are apparently top of Warner's list, Square Enix having snapped up Eidos just before Warner completed the 33 million dollar acquisition of Midway.
Apparently, Warner have completed due diligence, but GI.biz were told that Codemasters won't be commenting. "We won't respond to that story. Everything is fine here."
Codemasters have grown rapidly in recent years, and there racing genre properties alone would make them an interesting target for the likes of Warner.
