Word in from Interactive this afternoon lets slip that the 2010 version of will land this September, with the publisher promising a much improved experience.

The game will boast a brand new match engine, and the ability for players to craft their own set piece strategies. Meanwhile, , Scouting Networks will allow users to "set-up local networks in countries around the world and grow local player knowledge and Practice matches helping users select their perfect team or trial new players."

"Today's announcement is one of the most significant in this much loved franchise's history and we aim to continually improve and innovate on this each year," enthused studio boss Roy Meredith, "Everyone should continue to expect huge announcements from Championship Manager, 2009 is going to be a big year for us."
