A mere one day after the release of America's Army 3, the Army has opted to close down the studio behind the game - which was sited in Emeryville, California.

The Army facility was axed as the marketing department looks to "consolidate development", but the series will continue in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

"This consolidation will allow us to gain efficiencies between our public and government applications," a spokesperson told ShackNews.

"We appreciate all the hard work that every member of the America's Army team has contributed to the project, and we look forward to delivering future America's Army game releases in the months ahead."
