Real Time boss urges government help
Careers key to leading role
Dave Jones, the man credited with the invention of Grand Theft Auto, now boss at APB developer Real Time Worlds, has said the UK government needs to do more to help game makers.
The UK is still one of the world's largest producers of video games, but it's position has been under threat, the government urged to offer tax breaks and other support to help maintain this leading role.
Jones tells the BBC that investment in careers is needed to keep Britain at the cutting edge", adding that "some of the biggest ever games in the world have come out of the UK."
The veteran believes that with the right support, games can be a big growth area in the future. Creative industries will apparently employ some 1.3 million people in the UK by 2013.
