PS3 console banned from UK prison
Escape fears drive console ban
Inmates at one UK prison will no longer be able to use PlayStation 3 consoles, over fears the system could be used to organise "escape attempts".
Apparently, prisoners at Rye Hill were using the system's WiFi social features to talk to people on the outside, prompting fears from the authorities that a system might be used to organise something more sinister than a Killzone 2 bout.
"PlayStation 3 consoles are barred on the grounds that they have the capability to send and receive radio signals as an integral part of the equipment," The Guardian were told by a spokesperson.
We've no word on other games consoles, but this isn't the first time prison-based systems have caused a stir for one reason or another.
