Namco aim global with new games
Dead to Rights just the start
Japanese game maker Namco Bandai might be big in Japan, but bosses at the firm clearly feel they could be bigger abroad, marketing chap Todd Thorson telling Gamasutra that future games will need to have international appeal.
Chatting at this week's E3 expo, Thorson said that Western developers will be recruited to create titles with global ambitions.
"We truly [want to] globalize the development of Western-focused games. It happens on two levels," the executive explained.
"Not only are the guys in Japan developing things there that are so well known and have a fantastic track record, they're really shifting their focus to a worldwide audience, making sure the products they make appeal globally."
Dead to Rights: Retribution will be crafted be Volatile Games.
