EA's has been talking to Reuters about how he expects there to be 1 billion video games players within the next two years.

"A few years ago, I think there were a couple of hundred million consumer participants in our industry. I think we are going to break a billion in a year or two," he commented.

He also talked up alternative business models, such as micropayments and used the as an example of mobile sales.

"They are participating in lots of different business models: PC, downloading games to their iPhones," he said. "They are doing micro-transactions on games like online."
