Sony brand bigger than Microsoft, Nintendo's for teens
Youth survey reveals tech brand trends
The Global Habbo's Youth Survey Brand Update 2009 polled 112,000 teenagers aged 11 to 19 to find the amongst the gaming platform holders the PlayStation brand was the most persuasive.
Also featuring was Apple's iPhone as the third most popular mobile phone brand, up from eighth place last year.
"The teenage years are developmentally important in exerting themselves as adults" said Emmi Kuusikko, a Director at Sulake. "Status is important, being recognized for who you are and what you stand for. Brands provide means to show which group you belong to and which you do not want to be associated with."
Amongst websites MySpace and YouTube took number one and two spots, with Facebook coming in third.
