Nestled amongst a clutch of sparkly new bits and bobs shown at their media briefing, the upcoming supporting Red Steel 2 stuck in our minds. Their conference showed footage of the game featuring a swordsman in a desert surrounded by enemies. A simple shot from his gun and hit from his swords leaves him standing alone.

The video finally shows both the dual-wielding weapons hinted at previously by the developers, and the one-to-one gesture controlled sword play. The sword looks to finally delivered on the promises made by the first game thanks to the wonders of the MotionPlus gyroscope technology.

The conference also revealed the proportional damage system. Namely, the harder you swing the sword, the harder you hit. Not only that but this sword game comes without blood (although it retains plenty of bone splitting).

Add to this Red Steel 2's purported 60 frames per second (not to mention the bundled MotionPlus block) and you have the makings of a suitable follow up to the much hyped launch game. We'll keep our eye on this one for you.
