Warner bid to take control of Midway
33 million USD deal under consideration
Midway have this week confirmed a 33 million USD bid from Warner Bros for the embattled game publisher, the offer for the majority of the Mortal Kombat maker being considered by the courts.
An agreement is being considered that would see Warner Bros bagging all of Midway's US assets, such as the Mortal Kombat license and development studios in Chicago and Seattle.
The deal, however, does not cover the firm's San Diego outfit, not their TNA franchise games. Midway Newcastle - creators of Wheelman - are also said to be left out in the cold by the proposed purchase.
Midway is currently under bankruptcy protection, US courts to decide the company's future, while a purchaser is desperately sought to keep the firm alive.
