Analyst expects vast MotionPlus sales
10 million this year?
Speaking with Edge, chatty Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that the Wii MotionPlus peripheral could sell as many as 10 million units this year alone.
"I think around 20 percent of Wii owners in the US and Europe will have bought Wii Sports Resort, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 or EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis," he offered, the games in question being bundled with the new Wiimote-enhancing hardware.
The exec predicts that this will equate to about eight million sales.
Another two million or so are likely to buy MotionPlus alongside a new console - Pachter adds. "I expect MotionPlus to be a sneaky success (like Wii Fit), and ultimately attach to at least one third of the [Wii's] installed base."
MotionPlus will launch next month.
