Modern Warfare 2 screens scanned online
First details on title also emerge
The first details on this year's Call of Duty installment, Modern Warfare 2, are now with us - the latest issue of Game Informer magazine spilling various beans on Infinity Ward's eagerly awaited first-person shooter.
Apparently, the title will still not offer any co-operative play in story mode, although there will be separate missions designed specifically for co-op pals.
Certain segments of the game will be set in snowy climes, and there will be a snowmobile or two to use in these regions; meanwhile, ice walls will also present a natural obstacle to the player.
On the multiplayer front, a new live-patching system promises to keep the game up to date without pesky downloads, while the title promises to be even prettier than Call of Duty 4 and will run at 60 frames-per-second.
New stealth elements are to be included in the player's tactical arsenal, and the gameplay will be more 'open' - if still ultimately linear. Lastly, the singleplayer mode promises to be somewhat longer than CoD4's 'concise' experience. Thanks VG247.
Update: Screenshots of Infinity Ward's opus have now been scanned online, and can be had on Tiscali.cz.
