City of Heroes expansion sighted
Going Rogue on the way?
The second-ever expansion for NCsoft's City of Heroes MMO has been spied online this week, 'Going Rogue' said to be a new add-on spied by Kotaku.
Word on the new pack was first confirmed by marketing firm StreetWide, although references to the new release have since been axed, presumably pending an official announcement from NCsoft.
Apparently, the new expansion will usher in a new area called Praetoria, in addition to an alignment system that will further muddy the moral waters and "explores the shades of gray that lie between Heroes and Villains."
City of Villains is of course the title's only other full expansion.
Update: NCsoft have officially confirmed this add-on this afternoon. Here are some words from someone important at the company.
"City of Heroes has brought a fresh new perspective to the MMO stage with its foray into the super-powered hero comic book genre, and we are excited to present gamers with even more innovative content in Going Rogue," offers Brian Clayton, general manager and executive producer at Paragon Studios.
"For years, players could choose between playing as a hero or a villain. Now we will present a third, malleable path where players can be affected by the results of their actions, enabling them to further develop, unveil new perspectives, and overcome new challenges."
We'll bring you more on City of Heroes very soon.
