Ubi admit Red Steel 2 MotionPlus 'risks'
Publisher prays for strong sales
New Ubisoft swordplay game Red Steel 2 simply won't work without MotionPlus, we're told, but the French publisher realise that they are taking a risk in making the peripheral an essential part of the experience.
"It's a huge risk," creative director Jason Vandenberghe told Nintendo Power. "We have no idea what the penetration rate for Wii MotionPlus will be. We assume high. We would like it to be high."
He added that without the use of MotionPlus the "gameplay simply isn't there", the director acknowledging the important of the new technology to their game.
MotionPlus will be released in most places next month, while Red Steel 2 will be out in time for Christmas. Plenty of time, there.
