Word has it this morning that Konami's controversial title, Six Days in Fallujah, has actually been dropped following criticism of the game which was to be based on one of the major battles of the Iraq war.

"After seeing the reaction to the videogame in the United States and hearing opinions sent through phone calls and email, we decided several days ago not to sell it," a spokesperson told Asahi.

"We had intended to convey the reality of the battles to players so that they could feel what it was like to be there."

Atomic are developing the game for PC, and PS3, with a release in 2010 originally planned. We're unsure whether this means the death of the title; but it certainly seems to mark the end of Konami's involvement.
