Activision's Scratch tussle to continue
New lawsuit from 7 Studios mooted
A US court may have already told Activision to return the source code for Scratch: The Ultimate DJ, while at the same time, dismissing Numark and Genius' complaint that the publisher were trying to delay the release of the DJ Hero rival - but this isn't the end of the matter.
Rather, the Activision backed ex-Scratch developer 7 Studios are now counter-suing Genius. They claim Genius has engaged in a "textbook case of unlawful and unsavory business practices."
The publisher are demanding one-million USD in damages, and claim that Scratch was delayed because it couldn't get platform holder approval, as a result of the game's track list being only 25 per cent complete three months prior to launch.
More on this ongoing legal sniping as we get it.
