Battlefield 1943 on consoles in June

Multiplayer battler scheduled

DiCE and EA's new look Battlefield, which picks up the WWII action in 1943, has been confirmed for release on Xbox Live and PSN come June.

The new multiplayer shooter will be distributed in digital form, and will cost 1,200 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 - including three theatres of conflict: Iwo Jima, Wake Island and Guadalcanal.

You'll be able to play as both US Marine or Japanese navy sides, in tussles of up to 24 players.

The PC version of this will follow a few months later, in September.
