EA hit with large-scale NFL lawsuit
Madden also embroiled in likeness tussle
Retired NFL sportsman Bernie Parish has launched an enormous lawsuit against EA, claiming that that the Madden games use his likeness without the right to do so.
The epic lawsuit, which targets John Madden himself, claims that the now-retired game mascot has made over 100 million USD in royalties. Parish and a number of other retired players blame Madden and EA for illegally using their likenesses in the hit game series.
Apparently, a lawsuit from retired players over a similar issue resulted in a 28 million USD pay out last year, when the NFL Players Association were found guilty of infringing the claims of former players.
Madden is contracted to remain the face of EA Sports' American Football series, despite announcing his retirement in recent weeks. Thanks GamePolitics.
