A public debate is to be held in over the rating of violent video games, the country undecided over whether to introduce a new '18' age certification, in order that more mature titles can be assured release down-under.

Politicians debating the move couldn't reach agreement, so a new paper will be proposed asking Australians whether they would like to see an 18+ label introduced.

After a consultation, the so-called Censorship Ministers will get the final say on the next step - a unanimous decision needed in order to change countries present classification system.

Australia has in the past missed out on big name releases, as they failed to achieve approval under the present 16+ top age rating.
