Rumours have been circling that the new Riddick game, Dark Athena, might come bundled with some fairly aggressive measures on the PC, something have stepped in to deny this week.

Speaking to Shacknews, Atari said there would not be a literal three install limit on the game.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena will limit you to three installs, but you'll be able to do that on three different machines, and as long as you have legitimate reasons, customer services will be able to unlock the game for further installations.

"We implement this protection in an effort to avoid early piracy," the publisher tell us.

"The activation code lets you install the game on up to three machines, with an unlimited number of installs on each assuming that you don't change any major in your or re-install your operating system."

Riddick's new adventure will arrive on April 24th.
