No Fatal Frame for Wii in US
Nintendo won't deliver Tecmo horror hit
Word in from Nintendo of America this morning reveals that Fatal Frame for the Wii will not be published by Nintendo in the United States, despite the platform holder owning the rights to do so.
Word of Nintendo's reticence is likely rile to Fatal Frame fans in North America, where the game has something of a cult following. Only a Japanese release has so far been confirmed.
"Nintendo holds the publishing rights to Fatal Frame Wii, which was developed by Tecmo and Grasshopper Manufacture and released in Japan on July 31, 2008," Tecmo tell IGN.
"Nintendo of America has since then decided not to publish the title in North America - consequently, the title will not be released in this territory.
"As the owner of the IP, Tecmo feels very unfortunate that the fans of the series in North America will not have a chance to play the game, but respects the final decision made by Nintendo of America."
A European release also now looks rather shaky.
