It looks very much as if the much publicized troubles at developer Cheyenne Mountain have resulted in the unfortunate demise of the previously announced Stargate Worlds MMO.

One of the TV series' executive producers has said the non-showing of the project is a "terrible shame", creative consultant Brad Wright telling one fan site of the game's shaky status.

"We don't know," Wright admitted on the game's future. "It's a shame. If it doesn't happen - and, let's be honest, it should be happening now if it was happening - it's a shame. It's a terrible shame."

The producer continued: "They had an opportunity and they got our support, and they obviously had significant funding, and it didn't happen."

It looks like Stargate Worlds is indeed dead in the water, barring some kind of miracle.
