The Developer's Choice Awards have been unveiled at GDC, and it is Bethesda's 3 that walks away with the coveted Game of the Year award, pipping 2, LittleBigPlanet, and IV.

Hideo Kojima was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement award at the event, while founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy landed 'Pioneer' gongs.

Fallout 3 also won in the Best Writing category, won for Visual Art and won through for Innovation, Technology and Best New Debut.

Dead Space was awarded Best Audio, World of Goo was the top Downloadable, while God of War: Chains of Olympus is apparently the top handheld outing.

Tommy Tallarico took home the so-called Ambassador gong. More from GDC soon.
