Ubisoft announce new RTS Ruse
Publishers takes a fresh look at WWII strategy
Publisher Ubisoft have today announced a brand new IP at the GDC shindig in San Francisco. A new RTS title is the order of the day, set in WWII, 'Ruse' set to be developed by Eugene Systems.
Based on brand new technology, described by one producer as "Google Maps in 3D", we're told to expect vast battlefields set across Europe and North Africa.
Cleverly, the game also makes use of 'ruses', a new gameplay mechanic, allowing players to use Trojan Horse-style techniques to outwit their enemies.
All the major WWII powers apart from Japan will be represented, with detailed maps and simple, easy to use controls designed to promote in-depth, pure strategy. As such the HUD will also be kept to a minimum.
Ruse is being developed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. A release later this year is planned. Check out our preview now.
