X-Men 2 writer behind Dante's Inferno flick

Work on movie steps up a gear

We've only caught snatched glimpses of EA's new action title Dante's Inferno so far, but so confident are the publisher in the clout of this original new creation that a movie based on the game is already being planned.

Variety this morning report that Dan Harris, the writer behind X-Men 2 and Superman returns, has been lined up to the write the film at EA's request.

The movie magazine also reveals that Strike Entertainment's Marc Abraham and Eric Newman will produce, while EA's Patrick O'Brien and game creator Jonathan Knight are also assisting.

The game is out later this year; who knows about the film.
