PS3 and PSP price cuts speculated
Sony won't be drawn on pricing chit-chat
Conjecture is intensifying this morning that Sony could be on the brink of announcing price cuts for both the PS3 and the PSP consoles. That's the word from CVG, who quote an insider retail source.
Other well placed sources seem to cast doubt over the likelihood of any immediate cut, although experts are in agreement that the PS3 in particular is just too expensive to achieve mass sales at the moment.
"It's been on the cards for a while," CVG's source offered, "but manufacturers are not in the habit of giving exact dates so as not to effect sales."
The source is apparently from a major UK high street retailer, but wouldn't speculate on when such a cut might arrive. Previously, we've caught wind of Sony potentially announcing something at the E3 show this summer.
More on all this idle gossip as we get it.
